How to choose motherboard parts
Match the part number, not just the model. ICs are listed with their marking (e.g. 338S00509, SN2400AB0) and usually the board designator (U-number); connectors with their J-number and pin count. Compare these with the schematic or boardview for your exact board.
Check the board location. Many connectors exist twice – one on the motherboard and one on the flex cable. The listing states which side it is for.
Plan the tools. Replacing BGA ICs and FPC connectors needs a hot air station or preheater, flux, a microscope and fine tweezers.
Which sub-category?
Use IC Chips for power, charging, audio, display/touch, RF and memory chips, FPC Connectors for battery, display, camera and charging-port sockets, and Donor Boards when you need to salvage components or practise.
FAQ
What are motherboard repair parts?
They are the components soldered onto a logic board – ICs, FPC/ZIF connectors and passive parts – used for board-level (microsoldering) repair instead of replacing the whole motherboard.
How do I find the right IC for my phone?
Read the marking on the chip or look up the U-number in a schematic/boardview for your model, then search that part number. Our listings show the part marking and the compatible models.
Do I need special tools to replace these parts?
Yes. Board-level work normally needs a hot air or rework station, a preheater, a soldering iron with fine tips, flux, a stereo microscope and precision tweezers.
