What to know about donor boards

  • CNC boards have had the CPU or other parts milled off, so they will not work as a phone. They are used to salvage ICs and connectors or to practise reballing, jumper wires and connector replacement.

  • Match the model. Salvaged parts must come from the same model (and often the same board variant) as the board you are repairing.

  • NAND. Some listings specify "without NAND".

FAQ

What is a CNC donor board?

It is a genuine iPhone logic board where the CPU area has been milled (CNC) so the board cannot be used as a working phone. The remaining components can be harvested for repairs.

Can I use a donor board to fix my iPhone?

You can transfer individual components, such as ICs and connectors, from the donor to your board. Paired parts may need extra steps.

Are donor boards good for practice?

Yes, real logic boards are a common way to practise microsoldering before working on customer devices.
