Plenty of 40mm Series 6 watches have changed hands by now. A parent upgrades, and the old watch goes to a teenager who wears it through basketball practice, bike rides and school. Sooner or later the screen meets a hard edge and a crack spreads across the face.

This OLED display screen assembly fits the 40mm Series 6, in OEM Pull or OEM Refurb quality, both using Apple panels.

What a broken 40mm Series 6 screen looks like

  • A crack from a knock, often starting at one corner.

  • A black display while the watch still vibrates for messages.

  • Touch that doesn't respond, or flicker and lines after a fall.

  • A screen raised from the case, which points to a swollen battery.

Worth knowing about the Series 6

The Series 6 added the blood oxygen sensor and a brighter always-on display. Unlike the Series 4 and 5, it has no Force Touch layer under the screen, so there's no pressure gasket to replace, just the display adhesive.

Check the 40mm size on the back. The screen is adhesive-bonded and connected by fine cables, so it's best opened with gentle heat and a thin blade by someone with watch repair experience. Disconnect the battery first and use fresh adhesive when closing.

Repaired once, a hand-me-down Series 6 can keep up with a busy teenager for a few more years.
