Details
The first Apple Watch Ultra was built for trails, dive trips and long races, with a 49mm titanium case and a raised lip around a flat sapphire front crystal. Sapphire shrugs off scratches, but it's harder and more brittle than ordinary glass, so a sharp hit on rock or metal can still crack it, and a fall can damage the panel underneath.
This OLED display screen assembly fits the Ultra (first generation). The grade is OEM Pull, so the panel is Apple's own, taken from a donor Ultra.
Damage seen on first-generation Ultra screens
Typical cases are a cracked crystal, a display that's black while the watch still vibrates, touch that's dead or erratic, and lines or flicker after an impact. If the screen is pushed up at one side, a swollen battery may be behind it.
Model check and repair notes
All three Ultra models use a 49mm case, so check the model number on the back; the Ultra 2 and Ultra 3 have their own listings. Open the watch with gentle heat and a thin blade, disconnect the battery first and use fresh adhesive when closing.
A word for divers
The Ultra is rated for recreational dives, but a home-sealed case can't be trusted to the same depth. After a screen repair, keep it to surface swimming at most unless it has been pressure tested.
Repaired with care, the first Ultra is ready to head back out on the trail.
