Repair steps

Clean the port, try a known-good cable and test wireless charging to narrow down the fault. Separate the stacked board, preheat and lift the original controller.

Fit the replacement on fresh flux, rejoin the board and test charging and a computer connection. Check touch and Face ID as well before closing up, since board separation can disturb other connections.
