Details

Cutting around a screen usually means unclamping, turning and reclamping at every corner, and each time the glue starts to set again. The SUNSHINE S-918L Pro solves that with a heated vacuum platform that rotates a full 360 degrees.

A built-in pump holds the screen by vacuum at one press, and the PTC heater is adjustable from 50 to 130°C on an aluminum plate with an insulating silicone pad. The working area is 8.5 inches (195 x 80 mm), for screens up to 8 inches. It's rated 400 W, weighs about 1.6 kg and measures 175 x 275 x 136.5 mm.

When to reach for it

  • Cracked glass on a working OLED that must come off in one piece.

  • A curved screen that keeps slipping during the cut.

  • Adhesive that sets again while you reposition the phone.

  • A small tablet screen up to 8 inches.

Tips

Let the plate reach temperature before mounting the screen. Check the vacuum holds, then rotate as you cut so the wire always works toward you.

Choose EU or AU 220 V, or US 110 V, to match your mains.
