  • On a paired iPhone, open Settings, tap the name of your AirPods and scroll to About. The model number starts with A.

  • Models in the same range often look alike but use different parts. Open your exact model's page or check the compatibility list on each product.

  • Disconnect the battery before you work near the board, and replace a swollen battery straight away rather than reusing it.
