SUNSHINE S1 Intelligent Precision Soldering Station

Lifting an 0201 capacitor with a single iron tip often sends it flying. The SUNSHINE S1 supports a C120 precision tweezer handle, which grips and heats both ends at once, as well as a C210 handle for ordinary joints.

It's an 80 W station with AC 110 to 240 V input and a range of 90 to 450°C, shown on a color LCD. It stores four temperature presets, keeps tip-to-ground resistance under 2 Ω, works in rooms from 0 to 40°C and sleeps when idle. The host measures 177 x 152 x 110 mm and weighs about 1075 g.

When the S1 helps

• Missing or misaligned tiny capacitors.

• Static-sensitive chips close to the joint.

Tips

Use the tweezers for removing small passives and the C210 handle for soldering and jumpers. Save four presets for your common jobs, for example tweezer removal, fine soldering, general joints and shields, so switching tasks is one press.
