SUGON T16 Soldering Iron

Most bench work is ordinary: a connector pin, a jumper, a resoldered wire. The SUGON T16 is a 75 W soldering iron sized for that everyday load, with a digital display showing the current temperature.

The spec table gives a range of 0 to 450°C. The listing describes interchangeable tips, a lightweight heat-resistant grip, and auto sleep that heats back up when you pick the iron up. It comes with EU, UK or AU 220 V plugs, or a US 110 V plug.

Using it well

Tin the tip as soon as it reaches temperature and clean it on brass wool between joints. Let it sleep in the stand rather than switching it off and on, which saves the heater and the tip from repeated full heat cycles.

For shields and heavy ground pads, a higher-power iron such as the T26 or T1602 recovers faster. The tip system isn't named, so check the photos before buying spare tips.
