Details
Take the shells off an Air 3 and the middle frame is what's left holding the drone together. The mainboard, power system and gimbal assembly mount to it, and the arms hinge from it. A crash that cracks or twists this frame can leave everything else intact yet the drone still unable to fly properly.
This middle frame is listed as an original part for the DJI Air 3, and we list it as original per the listing.
When the Air 3 middle frame needs replacing
A cracked or bent frame after an impact.
Arm hinges that sit at the wrong angle.
Broken screw bosses that leave boards or shells loose.
A gimbal that mounts crooked because its seat is distorted.
Original or aftermarket?
Our catalog also has an Air 3 middle shell body frame listed without a maker. Choose this one if you want the part described as original, and compare the photos of both to confirm they're the same section.
Moving to a new middle frame means transferring almost every internal component, so set aside time and work methodically. Keep each board's screws in a separate labeled cup, protect the gimbal flex, and check that each arm locks open once the frame is assembled. Before the first flight, run the IMU and compass calibrations DJI Fly requests and look for any sensor warnings. Then hover at low height and listen for unusual vibration.
