Details

On the 2016 to 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro (A1706 and A1708), the display cables wrap around the hinge and flex every time the lid moves. Over time they wear, and the result is a familiar pattern: uneven lighting along the bottom edge, then a backlight that cuts out once the lid passes a certain angle.

This aftermarket LCD screen display assembly fits the MacBook Pro 13-inch A1706 and A1708, in Silver or Space Grey, S+ Grade.

Display faults this A1706/A1708 assembly fixes

The cable wear faults above, plus cracked panels, lines, dead areas and a dark screen with a working external monitor. Because the cables on this design are part of the display assembly, replacing the whole assembly is the straightforward repair. Test with an external display first so you know the logic board is healthy.

Confirm the model number on the bottom case and match the lid color. Disconnect the battery before removing the display, and handle the display connectors gently.

After fitting, open and close the lid through its full range while watching the backlight to confirm the fault is gone.
