Details
The iPhone X introduced Face ID, and its top sensor flex has become a familiar repair item as these phones age. A flex torn during a screen replacement, or corroded after liquid damage, can take out the earpiece, the proximity sensor and the light sensor in one go.
This earpiece speaker with sensor flex cable fits the iPhone X. With no grade in the listing, it's sold as aftermarket.
When the iPhone X needs the full assembly
The earpiece is dead and the screen stays on during calls.
Auto-brightness is stuck.
The flex is visibly torn, creased or corroded.
The sensors failed after an earlier screen repair.
What has to move across
The listing notes that the proximity sensor, flood illuminator and ambient light sensor sit on this flex, and the original components must be soldered onto the replacement to keep Face ID. Without that transfer, the earpiece and basic sensors may work again, but Face ID won't.
If only the speaker is weak
The speaker-only part for the iPhone X is the better choice when the flex is intact, since it leaves the Face ID parts where they are.
Disconnect the battery first. After fitting, test calls, proximity, auto-brightness and Face ID before closing, so any problem is found while the phone is still open.
