Details
Tri-point screws hold many of the brackets inside an iPhone, and their tiny heads strip easily. The 2UUL SD23 KAKA is a torque screwdriver with a Tri-point Y0.6 tip for them.
It has adjustable torque control, a magnetic replaceable tip and a high-strength steel body weighing about 41 g. Because the tip is magnetic, it also picks up tiny screws from deep inside the frame. One driver comes in the box.
When to use the SD23
Battery bracket screws that are stuck or stripped.
Display connector covers that come loose after repair.
Screws dropped inside a phone and missing at reassembly.
Overtightened screws that damaged the threads.
Getting it right
Power the phone off first. Seat the tip fully in the Y-shaped head, set the torque, and turn smoothly until the driver slips. The magnetic tip helps carry screws back to their holes, so lay them out in order on a mat.
Together with the SD21 Pentalobe and SD22 Phillips drivers, the SD23 covers the main screw types in an iPhone. Replace the tip once its three points look rounded.
