Buying guide

How to choose a MacBook or iMac screen

  • Use the A-number. It is printed on the bottom case (e.g. A2442, A1932). Screens are listed by A-number and year because one model name covers several generations.

  • Assembly vs. panel. A display assembly includes the lid; it is the simplest swap for MacBooks.

  • iMac: panels are listed by size, resolution (4K/5K) and A-number.

For board-level MacBook repairs, see the MacBook ICs and connectors in Motherboard Parts.

FAQ

Where do I find my MacBook's A-number?

It is printed in small text on the bottom case, for example "Model A2338".

Do screens fit all years of the same MacBook size?

No. Screens change between generations even at the same size, so match the A-number and year.

Do you sell MacBook logic board parts?

Yes – power, charging and backlight ICs, SMC/BIOS chips and connectors for MacBook are in Motherboard Parts.
