DJI Air 2S Gimbal Camera Signal Cable

The Air 2S sends both its 1-inch camera's image data and the gimbal's control signals through one flexible ribbon to the mainboard. If it's damaged, the symptoms can look like a failed camera: a black live view, a gimbal error or a feed that cuts out when the camera tilts.

This gimbal camera signal cable is listed for the DJI Air 2S. The listing gives no maker, so we class it as aftermarket.

Working out an Air 2S signal fault

1. Remove the gimbal cover and restart on a level surface.

2. Tilt the camera gently by hand with the drone off and check for kinks in the ribbon.

3. Note whether video drops at particular gimbal angles; that points strongly to the cable.

4. Inspect both connectors for lifted or burnt contacts.

Routing the new cable

The cable has to flex every time the gimbal moves, so follow the original routing exactly and leave the same slack. Seat each connector evenly, then run a gimbal calibration and record test footage at different tilt angles.

A new signal cable is a fraction of the cost of a camera module and is often all a faulty Air 2S needs.
