Dell Inspiron M4040 / N4110 / N3110 Battery (Genuine Original)

Many older Dell Inspiron laptops still work well for basic tasks, but their batteries have long since worn out. This listing is for owners who want a genuine Dell battery rather than a third-party one.

It's described as a genuine original Dell laptop battery for the M511R, M4040, M4110, M5030, N3010, N3110 and N4110. The listing doesn't say whether it's new or used, and it doesn't give capacity, voltage, cell count or the battery part number. Compare your old battery's label with the photos before you order.

When to replace it

• The laptop only runs while plugged in.

• Windows warns that you should replace the battery.

• Shutdowns happen without warning on battery power.

• The battery has swollen or no longer clicks into place.

Fitting and checks

On these Inspirons the battery is usually removable from the outside, so turn off the laptop, unplug it, release the battery latch and slide the old one out. Fit the new battery until it clicks into place.

In Windows, run powercfg /batteryreport to see the new battery's full-charge capacity. Because the listing doesn't say whether it's new or used, check that reading against the design capacity shown in the same report.
