ATI Radeon Mobility 9200 (RV280) GPU 216-0732026 (Original New)

Notebooks built around the Radeon Mobility 9200 generation are now collector and restoration machines, and a failed graphics chip is one of the faults that can retire them for good. A new chip with the right part number gives a restorer something to work with when the original has cracked joints or has died outright.

This listing sells the ATI Radeon Mobility 9200 graphics chip with part number 216-0732026, described as Original New. It doesn't name any compatible notebook, so the match has to come from the marking on the chip already on your board.

Signs the graphics chip may be the cause

• No picture on the internal screen and the external output.

• Garbled patterns or stripes from power-on.

• A picture that comes back briefly when the board is pressed or warmed.

Before you replace it

Compare the full part number on the old chip with 216-0732026 and rule out the display, its cable and the backlight. Replacement is BGA rework with a preheater and a controlled profile, and older boards with lead-based solder may need a different temperature approach than modern ones.

For a vintage notebook worth saving, a matching new chip turns an unrepairable board into a realistic bench project.
